چکیده
The pervasive application of algorithmic decision-making is raising concerns on the risk unintended bias in AI systems deployed critical settings such as healthcare. detection and mitigation model a very delicate task that should be tackled with care involving domain experts loop. In this paper we introduce FairLens, methodology for discovering explaining biases. We show how tool can audit fictional commercial black-box acting clinical decision support system (DSS). scenario, healthcare facility use FairLens their historical data to discover biases before incorporating it into flow. first stratifies available patient according demographic attributes age, ethnicity, gender insurance; then assesses performance groups highlighting most common misclassifications. Finally, allows expert examine one misclassification interest by which elements affected patients’ history drive error problematic group. validate FairLens’ ability highlight multilabel DSSs introducing multilabel-appropriate metric disparity proving its efficacy against other standard metrics.

Auditing Black-box Models by Obscuring Features
Data-trained predictive models are widely used to assist in decision making. But they are used as black boxes that output a prediction or score. It is therefore hard to acquire a deeper understanding of model behavior: and in particular how different attributes influence the model prediction. This is very important when trying to interpet the behavior of complex models, or ensure that certain p...

In the chapter we are presenting the theoretical background, state of the art and modern research trends of Clinical decision support systems (CDSS). The challenges for success are derived and our experience is described with the presentation of a good practice example of employing CDSS in telemedicine. CDSS systems are increasingly often integrated into telemedicine clinical practice. In addit...

If you ask people what the phrase “computers in medicine” means, they often describe a computer program that helps physicians to make diagnoses. Although computers play numerous important clinical roles, from the earliest days of computing people have recognized that computers might support health-care workrs by helping these people to sift through the vast collection of possible diseases and s...

Clinical decision support (CDS) systems link patient data with an electronic knowledge base in order to improve decision-making and computerised physician order entry (CPOE) is a requirement to set up electronic CDS. The medical informatics literature suggests categorising CDS tools into medication dosing support, order facilitators, point-of-care alerts and reminders, relevant information disp...
